2008 What's On
Norfolk Island hosts many events and celebrations throughout the year. These include sporting tournaments such as tennis, lawn bowls, squash, archery and golf. The sporting facilities on the island are first class. Music festivals are held every year and include the popular Country music festival, Jazz in the Pines, Opera in the Ruins and the Rock'n'Roll festival. Important public holidays are Anniversay (Bounty) Day and Foundation Day. Government House Open Days: Built in 1829 and handsomely restored, the formal rooms of Government House are open once a month to the public during the hours of 1pm-3.30pm. There is a small entry free which goes to a local charity. Please check at the Visitor Information Centre as some dates may alter due to alterations being done at Government House and Government House may not be open on wet days.
