"End to COVID health directions on Norfolk Island" Please continue to maintain a safe distance from others, practice good hand hygiene, wear a mask in public places, cover your coughs and sneezes, stay home if sick and get tested if you develop Symptons.
From 14 October 2022, the requirement to complete an Entry Permit to travel to Norfolk Island was removed.
All travellers are currently allowed to enter Norfolk Island.
Tests are no longer required, however, if you are travelling to the island it is strongly recommended that you still undertake a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) for COVID-19 within 48 hours of departing and if the test is positive, do not travel to the island. It is also recommended that you undertake a further RAT within 24 hours of arrival.
The island has very limited health facilities compared with Australia and particularly if you are elderly, un-vaccinated, or with a comorbidity and become infected with COVID-19 you will strain these facilities. There remains a mandatory requirement to report a positive result to either PCR or RAT for COVID-19 to the Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Service (NIHRACS) whilst on the island. This will result in self-isolation at your own cost for seven (7) days.
It is preferred that travellers are vaccinated, however unvaccinated travellers can still visit without having to undertake self-isolation.
If you feel unwell and require medical assistance while on island, please contact the Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Service (NIHRACS) +6723 24134
In the event of an emergency on Norfolk Island please telephone 000.
