There's more to Norfolk Island There's more to Norfolk Island

Welcome to the South Pacific’s best adventure playground and outdoor classroom. Norfolk Island is the perfect place for busy families to unplug and reconnect with the real world, and each other.

"Dem letl salan se pili ornaa biich" The kids don't want to leave the beach.

Day 1 - Diving into Island Life

Morning - Start the day early by leaping off our iconic pontoon into the crystal-clear waters of Emily Bay Lagoon. Then pull on your face masks and fins and explore the coral wonderland just offshore. Prefer to keep your feet dry, join a Glass Bottom Boat tour!

Afternoon - After a picnic lunch at Emily Bay, explore the Kingston UNESCO World Heritage Site, the perfect way to introduce the family to our island’s history. School-age children can enter the museums for free and guided tours are available. Alternatively, grab a visitor map and take a self-guided tour through our fascinating ruins and museums.

Evening - Watch the history you learned about in Kingston come to life at the Trial of the 15 play. Let the kids test out their vocal cords as they boo the villains and cheer on the heroes.

Day 2 - Exploring Nature

Morning - Walk down to Cockpit reserve and view the waterfall from the Boardwalk, then head to the secluded beach at Bumboras to discover the rockpools.

Afternoon - Escape the heat of the day on the cool walking trails and boardwalks of Norfolk Island National Park and Botanical Gardens. Keep your eyes and ears open for our island’s green parrot, one of the planet’s rarest birds. Pop into the Discovery Centre whilst you are there.

Evening - After all that hiking and outdoor fun, kick back with a family movie, refreshments and blanket (in winter) at the Ferny Lane Theatre. On your way home, don’t forget to stop and gaze up at our night sky and see who can count the most shooting stars!

Day 3 - Mountains to Mazes

Morning - Get the kids up just before dawn and head to Mount Pitt or Mount Bates for a sunrise the family will never forget.

Afternoon - Lose the kids for a while in the Hedge Maze at Strawberry Fields,  afterwards the whole family deserves a treat at one of the Chocolate shops!

Evening - If the kids are old and brave enough, book them on the Lantern Lit Ghost Tour, which includes hair-raising walks through the Olde Town, Kingston Cemetery and Australia’s most haunted house.

Birds-eye view of large diamond-shaped hedge maze and small oval-shaped hedge maze.
